Finances

I’ve never really thought about finances until lately. When I moved in with Eric, he took care of the finances without any thought from me. He made the money so he should do with it what he wants, right? Then I got pregnant. Then it settled in that in a few short months there’d be this little human relying on us for support. That made me me take more focus on our financial situation.

To be honest, we’re not that hard off. He owes his dad money as well as paying off a credit card. I have student loans that total around $10,000, which is our highest debt, and owe my old school around $4500. I’ve been reading a lot of finance websites/forums and really starting to think about building a savings fund, saving to buy a second car, and saving to move. We began a savings fund already and are contributing to it every paycheck.

I’m really looking forward to the day we are debt free and not living paycheck to paycheck.
