Purex Complete with Zout Review and Giveaway
I am notorious for being clumsy when I eat. It never fails that by the end of a snack or meal I have ended up with something on my shirt. My most recent stain escapade was with a tomato based sauce on one of my maternity shirts. I washed it as quickly as I could, but it still ended up with a stain on it. Enter Purex Complete with Zout. I was doubtful that this would help since it had been days since the stain had settled in. Nevertheless, I rewashed the shirt with the Purex detergent. It actually worked! My shirt looked just as good as the day I bought it, which was a relief since I don’t have that many maternity shirts to begin with. Not only that but I have been using it on our dog’s white blanket, which is by far the grimiest thing in the house. Every time her blanket comes out look like we just bought it.
How does it work you ask? It contains 3 enzymes that break down the stains on your shirt. Protease works against protein based stains like grass and blood. Amylase works against starchy stains like chocolate and tomato sauce (yay!). Mannanase works against guar, which is used as a thickener in many foods such as ice cream and BBQ sauce.
Purex Complete with Zout comes in two fragrances: Fresh Morning Burst and Free & Clear. I requested the second to review since I’ll be using this on the baby’s stuff as well. It’s also formulated to be dually compatible with traditional and HE machines.
You can use it as a detergent or a pretreater. To use as a pretreater just pour a little directly on the stain and rub into the fabric. Let it sit for 5 minutes then wash like you normally would. Just think, no more having to buy pretreater and detergent separately!
