4 Months Down

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 months since Alyson joined our little family. It seems like it was just yesterday! She’s growing so fast too, it seems like everyday she’s doing something new (just last week she rolled from her stomach to her back for the first time). In two more months she’ll be starting solids. I’ve already started stockpiling Plum Organics, Earth’s Best, Happybaby, Gerber, and Beechnut cereals and food in anticipation.

It hasn’t always been easy, I haven’t spent more than an hour away from her since she’s been born because she freaks out if I’m not holding her 24/7. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to “break her” of that, but I want to enjoy her being little and wanting to be cuddled. Admittedly, it’s hard not being able to sit her down without her crying, but I just try to keep my chin up. I also love my BabyHawk mei tei. It has been a lifesaver for going out and about with her.

She was exclusively breastfed until she was 2 1/2 months old. We began supplementing formula to help her gain weight (she was only gaining a few ounces every 2 weeks). We started her on milk-based but she was spitting up a lot and I found out that I had a cow protein allergy as a baby, so we switched her to soy and we haven’t had any problems.

Since I didn’t anticipate only having one-hand free to type, my blogging has fallen to the way side. Now that she’s a little older and tolerates being sat down for a few minutes at a time, I’m trying to get back into the swing of things.
