Kroger Private Selection Line Review

As a bzz agent through bzzagent.com, I was happy to get the Private Selections campaign.  I’m a big believer that store brands are just as good as the name brand products. My kit included 3 free coupons to try one appetizer, one pizza, and one dessert.

Eric and I headed to Kroger’s and made our selection: Southwestern Style Chicken Trumpets for our appetizer, Pepperoni and Roasted Garlic pizza, and Berry Medley Tartlets for our dessert. The dessert are actually in two different sections, which made it a little difficult to find all of them.

The night we bought them we had the Southwestern Style Chicken Trumpets and the Pepperoni and Roasted Garlic pizza for dinner that night. The portions were definitely small (or our appetites were bigger than the makers imagine, lol) but we made do. The appetizer was good but some of the shells seemed to be lacking in filling. We dipped them in ranch and it was a great combination.

A couple of days ago we had the Berry Medley Tartlets. You can definitely taste the berry flavor, especially the blueberry. We didn’t eat all of them. I found them too sweet to eat them all at once, but I appreciated that they were bite-size. This made portion control a lot easier.

Overall the quality of the products were on par with name brand products. However, we felt that the price of the pizza was too much for the size of what you get. We can get a name brand pizza for half as much but twice as much in size.

(I received free products from Bzzagent.com for review purposes.  All opinions are my own and not influenced in anyway. Other people’s views and experiences with the product or products might be different from mine.)
